Documentation of a computer network can be a mess. It is either under documented or over documented. Under documented networks have either no documentation or documentation that is out of date, much investigation must be done by software or service personnel to get a handle of how it is configured. On the flip side, too much documentation can be a nightmare to search through and find what you need in order to repair a problem. IT Help Link’s solution to the problem was to create an easy to edit, interactive network map, with all relative information on it, which is accessible from any location

All Devices within the drawing are able to be managed through a web interface or by remote desktop.  The documentation is used with standard Microsoft software.  All resources on the map are named in DNS, I.E. “server.smithandcompany.com” etc… this makes further documentation and upkeep a snap.
